Seven teams of farmers and farm advisors have been awarded funding from Good Idea Mini-Grants, a program encouraging the implementation of edge-of-field conservation practices on farming operations in the Mississippi River Basin. Each team will implement a low-cost practice to help reduce soil erosion and nutrient runoff from farm fields into local waterways, receive training on peer leadership, and produce a video or podcast about their project to encourage other farmers to adopt these practices.
The teams will install their practices in summer and fall 2024, and their videos and podcasts will be shared on One Good Idea in winter 2025.
