Copied!

Fall is a showy season, but with its dwindling daylight and chilly nights, it feels short-lived. Make the most of the bright foliage and warm days by becoming a Master Naturalist. This scavenger hunt will help you slow down and savor the seasonal changes. What’s stocking up, hunkering down, or heading out? Put down the rake and gloves and go find out!

Developed in partnership with the Wisconsin Master Naturalist program, this Neighborhood Naturalist scavenger hunt is the second in a series that introduces kids and their families to the concept of phenology and encourages them to spot signs of the seasons in their backyards and nearby greenspaces. Vast wilderness is not required! These challenges are designed to apply to a variety of landscapes, both urban and rural, across Wisconsin.

Print the gamecard, or check off boxes via smartphone or tablet. The more challenges kids complete, the more badges they earn. Regardless of completion, this scavenger hunt is a great way to get outdoors and off screens while maintaining safe social distancing.
